The long-awaited update introduces a new node-based workflow.
Exlevel has recently launched GrowFX 2.0, a major update to a 3ds Max plant-generation plugin. The latest version brings a node-based interface for controlling parametric plant models.
Originally launched in 2008, GrowFX allows users to generate 3D trees and other plants in 3ds Max. The models generated by the tool are fully parametric, so you can tweak all kinds of tree features.
The latest update introduces the new Node Editor, allowing users to control vegetation by wiring mixing nodes in a graph. The new node-based framework makes the tool more flexible and intuitive. Please note that plants created with earlier versions of the tool can be converted automatically.
There's also a new algorithm for the Path Reaction modifier, plus more. As for new perpetual licenses, they cost $325. Learn more here.
