The expenses on the game's creation allegedly amount to $2 billion.

Rumors appeared online that the production of Grand Theft Auto 6 costs Rockstar from $1 to $2 billion, which could make the title the most expensive video game in history.
Such an assumption already circulated last year, when INTER, a well-known GTA YouTuber, suggested that the amount of money spent on the title's development might amount to $250 million, reaching the overall sum of $1 billion together with marketing costs:
Even without specifying the numbers, last year, there was a widespread belief that the new installment to the Grand Theft Auto game would exceed the industry-standard AAA price of $70. The publisher's CEO, Strauss Zelnick commented on the pricing for intellectual property, saying that a video game's price should be determined on a per-hour basis: "The per-hour value times the number of expected hours plus the terminal value that's perceived by the customer in ownership if the title is actually owned, not, say, rented or subscribed to."
In comparison, the production of the last two releases of the GTA franchise cost several times less than the alleged price of the upcoming installment: expenses of GTA 5 amounted to $265 million, and GTA 4 cost $100 million.
The prices of other renowned titles differ greatly from the reported expenses on the long-anticipated GTA 6. For instance, the development of Black Myth: Wukong's production set its developer back approximately $42.5 million, with a total expense of around $70 million if considering marketing costs. Lords of the Fallen, the most expensive title created by its developer CI Games, cost about $66 million.
Before, it was reported that the recently released show Arcane became the most expensive animated TV series, with its price amounting to $250 million.
