GTA San Andreas VR Will Not Be Released Anytime Soon

The project is "on hold indefinitely."

Rockstar

The highly anticipated VR version of GTA San Andreas will not be released in the near future.

Meta's representative said the project has been put "on hold indefinitely." Also, in YouTube comments, Meta's official account recently explained that Meta and Rockstar focus on other projects. However, the company is probably considering collaborating with GTA's developer. "We look forward to working with our friends at Rockstar in the future," reads the company's comment.

The VR version of GTA San Andreas was announced for Quest 2 by the Oculus team in October 2021 at the Facebook Connect showcase. However, no gameplay footage, other videos, or images related to the remake have been released.

Earlier, GTA San Andreas developer Obbe Vermeji revealed some behind-the-scenes moments of creating the game, for example, how the game's mirrors were made or why, unlike in GTA 3, there was no litter on the streets of the game's San Andreas.
