Guerrilla Games states the Horizon series is "going to be continuing it for a very long while." The studio also revealed they have 16 plans they're considering.
We knew the series is not ending with Horizon Forbidden West's Burning Shores DLC and fans are waiting for the story to have at least the third chapter.
Back in May, Guerrilla Games shared the Horizon franchise had sold 32.7 million units worldwide (8.4 million belong to Horizon Forbidden West).
"Millions more around the woarld have discovered Horizon thanks to PlayStation’s subscription services and initiatives, including PlayStation Plus, and Play at Home. All told, it’s a milestone we never imagined possible twenty years ago when we first started making games," Studio Director Jan-Bart van Beek said. "We can’t wait for you to find out where she’ll go next."
Now, the Studio Director shared they're not going to stop anytime soon. "As people probably already know, we're also going to be working on a multiplayer game," van Beek said.
Van Beek also added that working on the upcoming multiplayer, co-operative game is "a massive shift for the studio, almost on the same level as doing the first Horizon."
