Bleakmill offered a new sneak peek at their UE5-powered action FPS inspired by Half-Life 2.
INDUSTRIA 2, an action FPS adventure inspired by Half-Life 2 about a woman lost in a parallel dimension, was first announced by its developer Bleakmill this spring and received a new gameplay teaser in June. The devs have been sharing updates on the game's features, and recently, they showcased a new clip on Twitter depicting the scene with in-game weapons and enemies.
The video shows the characters in an enclosed area and features dynamic shooting animation. As the developers noted, it's still a WIP visual, and they intend to improve the animation further.
The creators have also shared some technical details of the development process. For instance, they pointed out that they keep the geometry of the in-game locations simple and add realism to it through textures and lighting. They said that indirect lighting with dim values and color contrasts is key for this art style, while Roughness Maps require adjustment so that surfaces keep their subtle shine. The contrast in the textures needs to be low to achieve a "smooth" look.
