Horizon Forbidden West Is UK's Second-Biggest PS5 Launch So Far

Horizon Forbidden West has shown the second most successful start on PlayStation 5 and became the most popular title in the UK.

Horizon Forbidden West has become the most popular title in the UK boxed charts and the second-biggest physical launch on PlayStation 5 following just console launch title Spider-Man: Miles Morales. Being released on both PS4 and PS5, 68% of the boxed sales were on PS5 with the rest being sold for PS4.

According to the recent GfK figures, reported by Games Industry, Horizon Forbidden West sales were down 35% compared with 2017's Horizon Zero Dawn. However, this data doesn't include digital sales yet and since 2017, digital distribution has grown significantly.

The week was also marked by the rise of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales to 12th place displaying a 90% week-on-week increase in sales. Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart went up to 20th place, while Cyberpunk 2077 which was recently enhanced for the current generation consoles re-entered the chart at 23rd place with a 271% rise in sales.

Another new release over the week was the fighting game The King of Fighters XV, which debuted at the 30th position. The title sold best on PS5 (53%), followed by PS4 (25%) and Xbox (23%).
