Impressive Mouth Rig Created for a Stylized 3D Character in Blender

3D Artist and Animator Krust showcased a great recreation of The Amazing Digital Circus' Jax.

Today, let's have a closer look at an impressive WIP 3D recreation of Jax from The Amazing Digital Circus, a computer-animated surreal black comedy horror web series, being created by 3D Artist and Animator known online as Krust.

Over the past couple of weeks, Krust shared a series of behind-the-scenes demos and screenshots showcasing the production process behind the character. So far, the artist has been focusing primarily on creating Jax's head, however, an early version of the character's body has also been shown.

One of the most incredible things demonstrated by the author was an impressive custom-made mouth rig created for Jax, which allows for extreme flexibility when it comes to setting up the character's mouth. According to Krust, the result was achieved in Blender with the help of a low-poly mesh and the Shrinkwrap modifier, which can be used to "shrink" an object to the surface of another object.

"No promises, but if I continue this, I'll make it public," commented the creator. "I'll release the WIP if I ever give up."

We highly encourage you to visit Krust's Twitter page so as not to miss any future updates. Also, don't forget to join our 80 Level Talent platform and our Telegram channel, follow us on InstagramTwitter, and LinkedIn, where we share breakdowns, the latest news, awesome artworks, and more.
