Indie Developers Received $1.2B From Xbox This Generation

The Xbox team states that indie developers received more than $1.2 billion since the ID@Xbox initiative launched five years ago.

Way to the Woods

The number was shared by Kotaku Australia that published an interview with the program's leader Chris Charla. "We've paid more than $1.2 billion to independent developers this generation for games that have come through the ID program," Charla stated. "There's a great commercial opportunity. There's great artist opportunity."

Unfortunately, the leader did not provide specific details on how much each studio got. Please note that the money was split between more than 1,000 games (the team reached this milestone back in October 2018).

ID@Xbox was originally launched in 2014 with the goal to support independent developers and help them release games for Xbox.

Discuss the number in the comments.
