InstaMAT 2025 Is Almost Here
Abstract's 3D texture and asset creation software is leaving early access and will officially launch on July 22 with over a hundred new features and improvements.
If you've been keeping up with industry trends over the past year, chances are you've heard of InstaMAT, a promising alternative to Substance 3D tools, which brings together 3D texturing, material creation, and asset development into a unified platform, offering advanced features and integration plug-ins for a seamless experience.
According to its creator, Abstract, InstaMAT has seen significant adoption across AAA game studios such as Bandai Namco, Blizzard, and Pearl Abyss, as well as leading academic institutions like SAE. Feedback from industry leaders and users has helped shape the upcoming release, with InstaMAT set to officially leave early access on July 22.
In addition, the InstaMAT 2025 release will introduce several major new features. These include enhanced asset texturing with reference layers and mask filters, physically-based terrain generation, advanced curve-based detailing, and cinematic viewport rendering with ray tracing and global illumination. Improvements also extend to advanced curvature and normal map baking.
InstaMAT's material library, which already offers over 1,000 PBR materials, will be expanded with more than 250 new assets. The update will also bring collaboration tools and project sharing through Polyverse integration, a cloud-based system for asset management and 3D data processing.
To celebrate the upcoming launch, Abstract is offering an exclusive 30% discount on InstaMAT seat subscriptions purchased between July 15 and July 22. Several licensing options are available, but the Pioneer edition is free for users with revenue under $100,000 per year.
