It Takes Two Hit 5 Million Sales
Hazelight Studios reported the game's success that reflects 2 million more copies sold since the last sales update.
Hazelight Studios announced that its action-adventure hit It Takes Two has hit a huge milestone. In less than a year, the game has sold over 5 million copies worldwide.
The previous success of the game was reported in October 2021 – by that time the game's sales surpassed 3 million units. The impressive sales update reflects another 2 million copies sold since then. In fact, as It Takes Two is exclusively a co-op game, apparently more than 5 million players experienced the adventures of May and Cody. To thank the audience, the developers shared on Twitter that their team is "is absolutely stunned just thinking about how many players have now enjoyed [the] game".
The milestone of 5 million units makes the game the studio's most successful game of all time, as the sales surpassed Hazelight's A Way Out launched in 2018, which sold over 3.5 million copies.
It Takes Two was released in March 2021 for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S. In December 2021, it became The Game Award Game of the Year winner. Currently, Hazelight Studios together with dj2 Entertainment are working on the film and series adaptations for the game. The writers behind Sonic the Hedgehog and Sonic the Hedgehog 2 will take part in bringing It Takes Two to the screen.
