LogInSurvivor's digital sales performance was nearly double that of Fallen Order in 2019.
The launch sales of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor exceeded its predecessor, Fallen Order, by over 30% in the UK, according to journalist Christopher Dring's newly released digital sales data.
The data further indicates that Survivor's digital performance was almost twice as much as Fallen Order's back in 2019. Due to the significant acceleration in digital adoption since the release of Fallen Order in 2019, this outcome was anticipated. However, it's worth mentioning that Survivor was sold at a price £10/$10 higher than the original game.
Earlier, physical sales data indicated that Survivor was the second-largest launch of the year in the UK. However, its boxed sales were 35% lower than its predecessor. Out of Survivor's physical launch sales, 82% were on PS5, while 18% were on Xbox, possibly because digital downloads are more popular on the Xbox.
Additionally, the UK's all-time best-selling Star Wars games were recently unveiled by a chart company GfK. During its launch period, the largest physical Star Wars game was 2015's Star Wars Battlefront, which GfK claims sold more than double the previous biggest Star Wars game, 2008's The Force Unleashed.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order ranked eighth on the list. However, it is worth noting that the game would likely have placed higher if digital sales data had been included, as modern games tend to rely less on physical sales.
