Dever will take on the role of Abby.
Just over a month ago, we discussed the second season of HBO's The Last of Us TV series, which is promised to be released in 2025, and talked about the rumors that Kaitlyn Dever was the frontrunner for the role of Abby. Well, the good news is that the rumors were true, and Dever is joining the cast as one of the most important characters, Abby.
I'm pretty sure that you've heard of the actress as she has starred in many projects, such as Last Man Standing, Justified, Booksmart, No One Will Save You, and others. The new season is expected to follow the storyline of The Last of Us 2 game, introducing a new character, Abby, who will play a crucial role in Ellie's post-apocalyptic life.
"Our casting process for season two has been identical to season one: we look for world-class actors who embody the souls of the characters in the source material," shared The Last of Us' Co-Creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann with Variety. "Nothing matters more than talent, and we're thrilled to have an acclaimed performer like Kaitlyn join Pedro, Bella, and the rest of our family."
While The Last of Us season 2 is still far from us, you can brighten up the expectation by playing The Last of Us Part II Remastered on PlayStation 5 starting this January.
Also, The Last of Us recently received 8 Emmy awards, becoming a winner during the first night of the 75th Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony.
