Key Capital Partners To Invest In Jellyfish Pictures

Key Capital Partners announced it's decided to invest in VFX company Jellyfish Pictures to facilitate the company's growth.

Yesterday, Key Capital Partners (KCP) announced it has completed a minority investment into the UK-based animation production company Jellyfish Pictures. The investment will be the company's third in the last 9 months. The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Founded in 2001 with a team of three artists and one producer, Jellyfish Pictures has become a global award-winning VFX company employing 350 people. It is best known for its work on Star Wars films, various drama series including Black Mirror and The Book of Boba Fett, and animated feature film How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming.

With the help of the deal, the company intends to expand growing its staff to over 600 employees in 2022.

Jellyfish's CEO Phil Dobree will retain his position while Lynton Barker and Philip Duquenoy of KCP will join the executive team as Non-Executive Chairman and Non-Executive Director respectively.

"We are delighted to have KCP on board for the next stage of Jellyfish’s ambitious journey," shared Dobree, "We have seen an unprecedented demand for our services over the last year and this investment allows us to accelerate the company’s growth, providing our clients and partners with the technical and creative resources to continue to bring compelling, award-winning work to the screen."

Philip Duquenoy added: "This is an exciting time for the creative TV and film industry in the UK and we are thrilled to be working with such an innovative business to enable even greater growth."
