King Buys AI Developer Peltarion

The company plans to use more AI and machine learning approaches. 

The creator of Candy Crush King revealed the company purchased AI software developer Peltarion. King plans to increase its use of AI and machine learning tech in its games.

Sweden-based Peltarion was originally launched in 2004 by Luka Crnkovic-Friis and Måns Essén, the same year they presented their first platform Synapse. The tech was used by several well-known organizations including NASA, Tesla, and Harvard.

"We believe the talented Peltarion team, together with the powerful technology they have built, will help us serve our players even more effectively with more engaging games and content," said President of King Tjodolf Sommestad. "This is yet another step towards our mission of making the world playful." 

King also added that Crnkovic-Friis and Måns Essén will get new leadership positions in King focusing on AI technologies.
