KitBash3D Releases a Free Mission to Minerva Kit & Announces a New 3D Challenge

Artists can download the new Mission to Minerva sci-fi kit for free and take part in a dedicated challenge to win one of the Wacom Cintiq pen displays, free KitBash3D kits, and more.

Online asset store KitBash3D has released a new modular sci-fi kit, Mission to Minerva. The kit is available for free and contains a number of assets that can be used when building space exploration scenes including various space buildings, machinery, and vehicles.

According to KiBash3D, the Mission to Minerva kit will provide you with "everything a spacefaring explorer needs" –  "from cargo ships, terrain rovers and terraformers to community centers and endless modular habitats."

The models are available in FBX and OBJ format as well as scene files for 3ds Max, Blender, Cinema 4D, Houdini, and Maya, and for game engines including Unity and Unreal Engine.

The kit is specially created for KitBash3D's new Mission to Minerva 3D challenge which is running now till December 2. To participate in the challenge, artists have to download the Mission to Minerva kit, build a settlement on a planet within the Minerva Galaxy, and share their works using #KB3Dchallenge on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, or ArtStation.

In case this is the artist's first experience building a virtual world, KitBash3D also offers free tutorials explaining the basics of using 3D in Blender or Unreal Engine 5.

Participants can enter into either of the two categories: Concept Art Awards for still image renders and In-Motion Awards for animations. The winners of the challenge will be announced on December 20. First, second, and third-place winners will get such prizes as Wacom Cintiq pen displays, free KitBash3D Kits, a subscription to the Gnomon Workshop, an ArtStation Pro subscription, and more.
