Konami, the publisher of Silent Hill, has established a new studio in Osaka, Japan, with the objective to ensure "sustainable growth" for the 50-year-old corporation. This latest addition to the company is called Konami Osaka Studio and, according to Komani, it is outfitted with motion capture equipment and sound recording facilities.
Konami Osaka Studio is situated at the Osaka Umeda Twin Towers South business center and will adhere to the principle of "Creators First", as Konami notes in a press release. The new studio is set to feature "a well-developed environment where creators can demonstrate their full potential, and is set up in a location with convenient transportation access."
In addition to the recently established Osaka studio, Konami also shared that it is currently constructing its new "next-generation R&D center" in Tokyo, known as Konami Creative Front Tokyo Bay, which is expected to be finished by 2025.
In the same press release, Konami also stated that it has significantly increased the company's basic salary level. This implies an average monthly boost of ¥50,000 ($377) per employee, while the starting base pay for new hires will also increase by the same amount.
