VFX Artist Late as usual has presented a new cool effect visualizing a laser going through water made in Blender. The laser cuts through the mesh and creates waves around.
"All it's doing is twisting the mesh, but it also instances some spheres on it which allow it to maintain volume and "blobbiness."
The artist shared the nodes as well, so you can see how the effect is made.
