Leaked Images Show the Early Version of Half-Life 2 Gravity Gun

Leaked Half-Life 2 images supposedly showcase the first-ever iteration of the Gravity Gun which was apparently made using the GoldSrc Engine.

Several images from the early development of Half-Life 2 supposedly showing the first-ever iteration of the Gravity Gun have appeared online.

The images first appeared on one of the Discord servers and later started making the rounds on social media platforms including Twitter and Reddit.

The weapon shown in the images may be one of the first iterations of the gravity gun, a device from Half-Life 2 that allows players to lift heavy objects and then hurl them at advancing enemies. The Gravity Gun was a valuable tool in Gordon Freeman's arsenal and is considered one of his trademark tools alongside his signature weapon, the crowbar.

According to social media users, the weapon in the images is an early prototype of the iconic weapon which was created in 1999 and was apparently made using the GoldSrc Engine which powered the original Half-Life.

"Development for Half-Life 2 started almost immediately after Half-Life 1," Twitter user Soliera commented. "The earliest footage ever for Half-Life 2 is called Get Your Free TVs and it’s running in what looks like the earliest build of Source out there (basically GoldSrc) with Half-Life 1’s HUD and dates to 1999."

Fans have also pointed out that in terms of design, the images are similar to the gravity gun that appeared in one of the early concept arts of Eli Maxwell.
