Let's Revisit That One Episode of Dexter's Laboratory Written by 6-Year-Old Fan
"And don’t forget, you are stupid!"
If you saw the Dexter and Computress Get Mandark! episode of Dexter's Laboratory, chances are you still remember the "You are stupid! You are stupid! And don’t forget, you are stupid!" line. But did you know that it was written by a 6-year-old boy and then animated for Cartoon Network? Even if you did, let us take this trip down memory lane as a reminder that dreams do come true sometimes.
Dexter and Computress Get Mandark! is the first segment of the 36th episode of Season 2, released on April 29, 1998. It all started when Tyler Samuel Lee sent an audio tape to Cartoon Network, narrating his idea: Mandark's robot "brother" Computress joins Dexter to take revenge on Mandark.
The studio liked the idea (or perhaps the narration) so much that it animated it using Tyler's voice and added an image of his mom popping up when she was heard in the recording.

The child's description led to several funny moments in the animation, like when Tyler started with "And then Dexter said" and never finished the sentence, which turned into one of the most iconic parts of the show, with Dexter raising his finger and then realizing he, in fact, had nothing to say.
Now, Tyler is an opera singer who also leads D&D campaigns. You can find him on Instagram to see his other creative ideas.
This is a heartwarming but rare story, as companies almost never take fans' scripts due to legal considerations. Thankfully, this one ended well.
