Scott Petrovic shared the latest progress on his alternative to Mixamo.
Scott Petrovic, the creator of a free and open-source web app that allows you to animate your 3D models just like Mixamo, has teased some updates coming in the next Mesh2Motion release. According to him, Mesh2Motion will receive a dark and light theme toggle, video previews, an animation player, a mini 3D view helper, and improved navigation.
Mesh2Motion was just updated at the end of July, adding an Undo/Redo system, hand variations, and options to filter animations. Earlier, numerous improvements and updates were made to weight painting, skeleton blending, and mesh handling:
This project is progressing quickly and still has plenty of potential for growth. Mesh2Motion operates in a very straightforward way: import a 3D model, then automatically assign and export animations.
