New features include working with geometry as well as animation and UDIMs support.
Developer polygoniq has released memsaver 1.1 – the latest version of the Blender addon that saves VRAM. The creator listened to users' requests and implemented some of the most desired of them.
In addition to textures, the tool now also works with geometry. It removes unnecessary geometry that is not visible from afar and only calculates a fraction of the original size to save memory.
What's more, memsaver now supports animation, meaning it calculates the necessary image size taking all animation frames into account.
Another great change is UDIM support. Memsaver can resize UDIMs just like with regular textures. If before only the current image from the sequence would be resized, now all images in the sequence are taken into account.
Memsaver is available for $12 on Blender Market. Polygoniq also offers a 25% discount until July 9: use the code "vramsolved" when checking out to get it.
