The Meta Quest v55 upgrade for the Quest 2 and Quest Pro VR headset has been made public by Meta. A separate VR app for Messenger, a new and enhanced Explore area, multi-touch support for the Meta Quest Browser, and other new features are among the update's many additions.
Meta wrote that the Quest 2 and Quest Pro VR headsets will perform better thanks to the most recent upgrade. Customers will see up to a 26% improvement in CPU performance in both headsets, a 19% increase in Quest 2's GPU speed, and an 11% increase in Quest Pro's GPU speed.
The company said that users will now experience "smoother gameplay, a more responsive UI, and richer content on both headsets." In addition to this, the company is also improving Dynamic Resolution Scaling, which will enable "games and apps can take advantage of increased pixel density without dropping frames".
With this release, Meta disclosed a VR app for Messenger. Users will be able to connect with their friends and family via various platforms and devices. They can communicate, hang out, and play games in VR using their voice and custom avatars.
Explore area was also updated. Short-form videos, media posts, and much more can be collected in one place. Users may watch their favourite TV series and movies, dress up in new Avatar digital clothes, or explore new realms in the Meta Horizon.
