Soon, Mojang, the developer of Minecraft, will host its highly anticipated annual Minecraft Live event. During this event, the team will unveil exciting developments and showcase the fun additions they have been diligently crafting. One of the event's key highlights is the much-anticipated Mob Vote, where fans have the opportunity to vote for their preferred mob out of three options. The winning mob will then be implemented into the game. However, this year's vote has sparked a significant amount of controversy among the community.

On October 7, Minecraft fans took to Change.org to launch a petition, which quickly gained over 400,000 signatures in just a few days. The primary demand from players to the developer is the abandonment of the Mob Vote. The author of the petition states that the vote "generates engagement by tearing the community apart", neglects some really amazing content, and leaves fans heartbroken because they'll never see or get to experience it ever again.

"Many have expressed their discontent with the Mob Vote in the past, with fan favorites like the Moobloom not making it into the game, and with content creators mobilizing their fanbases to vote for the least popular option for the joke of screwing over the other voters. This shows that the mob vote is inherently flawed," as pointed the writer of the petition.

Furthermore, fans are expressing their strong desire for Mojang to resume delivering substantial updates for Minecraft. They state that the current scale of content in updates pales in comparison to the large offerings from 2011.

"So we call upon Mojang. Stop the Mob Vote. Give us three mobs each year. If unpaid modders can add your mobs to the game within days after they're announced, the least you could do is keep up with the content frequency that made Minecraft famous," as demanded in the petition.

Speaking of new games, if you want to play a game with No Man's Sky and Minecraft Vibes, you might want to have a look at the brand-new game FOUNDRY, a building sandbox set in a procedurally-generated voxel world, created by Publisher Paradox Interactive.
