The Last of Us creative director Neil Druckmann warns fans to "be wary of 'insider' info."
Naughty Dog co-president and The Last of Us creative director Neil Druckmann has seemingly pushed back against the rumors that the studio's next project is set to be the third part of The Last of Us.
On January 1, the head of Naughty Dog congratulated all his followers on the New Year, adding that many exciting things from the studio await fans in 2023.
Druckmann also noted that players should "be wary of 'insider' info" as much of it is "false." The creative producer didn't specify what kind of insider information he was talking about. There were previously "leaks" that suggested that Naughty Dog was working on a new fantasy IP or a steampunk game, however, one of the most recent rumors about the studio was that its next game would be The Last of Us Part III.
The rumor came from ViewerAnon, a source known for accurate movie leaks who previously shared some details about The Last of Us TV series and revealed the existence of Crash Bandicoot 4. However, they rarely waded into the video game world which is why the rumor about the third part of the popular post-apocalyptic zombie game was met with a mixed reception.
It remains to be seen what projects Naughty Dog is really busy with right now. So far, the only project that the studio confirmed is currently in development is The Last of Us multiplayer game.
