On October 6, users took notice of an intriguing detail in a Naughty Dog employee's LinkedIn account. The information revealed an unannounced remaster of The Last of Us Part II, capturing the attention of network users. The description specifically highlighted the involvement of developer Mark Payarillo in the creation of environmental assets and weapon models for both the remake of the first game and the updated version of the sequel.

"Responsible for overseeing the production of all outsourced environment art assets, weapons and interactive props for two iconic titles The Last of Us: Part One and The Last of Us 2: Remastered," stated Pajarillo's LinkedIn profile.

Later, the developer fixed the situation and deleted the mention of The Last of Us 2: Remastered, as if nothing happened. However, it doesn't mean that people forgot about it. Here's the renewed version of the job entry.

"Responsible for overseeing the production of all outsourced environment art assets, weapons and interactive props for The Last of Us: Part One," reads the profile now.

As of the note's publication, there were no discussions among studio employees regarding a potential re-release of the game, thus leaving the timing of any official announcement uncertain. However, it is worth noting that the franchise composer, Gustavo Santaolalla, had previously mentioned the project.

During an interview with Blender, Santaolalla, who composed the original game and the franchise's TV adaptation for HBO, revealed that a new version of The Last of Us Part 2 was in development. In the interview, the interviewer expressed their excitement about playing the game and discovering Santaolalla's cameo. In that specific section, the well-known musician can be seen playing a song with a ronroco.

More news on the game, recently, Anders Howard, the former Principal Monetization Designer for The Last of Us multiplayer spin-off, has quit Naughty Dog, it happened amidst the latest layoffs at the company.
