This release adds support for macOS 26 and includes several fixes.
OTOY has released an update to OctaneRender 2025, the current version of its GPU renderer. Throughout the year, version 2025 has received consistent updates, from new features such as support for rest attributes to improve texture projection on animated meshes, to better OpenColorIO integration, and other changes.
The latest OctaneRender updates focus mainly on bug fixes: version 2025.3 introduced improvements to OSL shading, while the newly launched version 2025.4 adds support for macOS 26. Here's the full list of resolved issues in this release:
- Fixed application crash when trying to use an OSL baking camera on macOS (currently unsupported);
- Fixed the issue that made it possible for a volume's velocity channel loaded via a plug-in or Lua script to not get exported or be marked as inactive in the VDB import preferences dialog after saving the scene;
- Fixed bug causing incorrect clipping priority to be assigned when disabling and re-enabling clipping material when intersection material was assigned;
- Fixed issues preventing the correct selection of the velocity grids in the VDB import preferences dialog in certain circumstances;
- Fixed issue with SSO sign-in, which could potentially lead to a deadlock;
- Fixed occasional render failures on macOS.
