Open-Source Universal Controller Firmware
Robert Dale Smith is building Joypad OS.
The idea behind Joypad is to make any controller work with any system, using modern controllers on retro consoles, or retro controllers on modern systems. It's a universal controller firmware foundation for adapters, controllers, and input setups.
According to the GitHub page, it supports universal input and output translation, modular firmware apps, flexible routing and passthrough, a hardware-agnostic foundation, and a platform for accessibility and assistive play. Supported devices include USB and Bluetooth controllers for Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo, both new and old, plus a few more obscure ones.
