Overwatch 2 appeared on Steam on August 10 together with a new season and some PvE content that was left after Blizzard canceled the Hero mode. At the time, only 18% out of nearly 20K reviews were positive, giving the game an Overwhelmingly Negative status.
It wasn't rock bottom yet: Overwatch 2 has become the lowest-rated game on Steam, at least among releases with over 1,000 reviews, according to Steam 250. Following are War of the Three Kingdoms, Flatout 3: Chaos & Destruction, and Identity.
Now, Steam shows that only 9% out of 111K users that rated Overwatch liked it. It might change for the better if Valve decides the game has been review bombed and removes some of them, although I doubt it would save the situation.
The game's horrible statistics have mostly Blizzard to blame. While fans are still mad about not getting the PvE content they had been promised several years ago, players also accuse the company of bad management in other areas, including monetization.
Despite the drama, Overwatch 2 is 34th on Steam's list of top-selling games.
