Chaos Group has made available Phoenix FD 4.10, a new version of the team's fluid simulation toolkit for 3ds Max and Maya, which speeds up the particle shader and improves the GPU preview. The 3ds Max edition of the tool now allows you to use any 3ds Max particle system as a fluid source.
What is more, the particle collection process is said to be up to 2x faster for Maya, and up to 5x for 3ds Max. When it comes to the Maya version, there's a new Count Multiplier for you to increase the number of particles in the particle shader.
The GPU preview for simulations has also been improved: new controls for light direction, the option to preview fire sims, and new output options.
