Nintendo teamed up with Pokémon company Niantic for a project called Pokémon GO, an augmented reality game for the iPhone and Android that brings all the virtual action of the Pokémon games into real life.

Catch ‘Em All in Real Life!

Pokémon GO will give players the chance to catch, trade, and battle other player’s Pokémon. Originally, the Pokémon series used real world locations such as Hokkaido and Kanto regions of Japan, New York, and Paris as inspiration for its fantasy settings.

Now, the real world will be the setting. Pokémon GO uses real location information (GPS) to encourage you, the Pokémon trainer, to search far and wide in your neighborhoods, communities, and the rest of the world to discover Pokémon.

Your smartphone will lead you into the direction of a wild Pokémon and tell you its exact distance and level. Along with that you’ll be able notified of when your Pokémon is being attacked by another player. It looks like the community and social aspect that made the Pokémon games so great is still going to be there for this new experience.

Pokémon GO Plus

To make you feel even more like a Pokémon trainer, there’s a little device called Pokémon GO Plus that allows players to play the game even without having to look at their smartphone. This works by connecting to your smartphone via Bluetooth and then it notifies the player of events that are closeby, such as a Pokémon that is nearby, with LED and vibration.

Players can catch Pokémon or do other simple actions by pressing a button on the Pokémon GO Plus. You can choose your Pokéball This is great for making you feel even more immersed in the experience of true.

Junichi Masuda of Game Freak Inc., the game director of the Pokémon video game series, is also part of the project to make sure that the fun from the original games stays true in Pokémon GO. He is also there to ensure that there will be new and fun types of gameplay to keep things fresh and connected to what made Pokémon so amazing.

Pokémon GO will be available on the App Store and Google Play. There is much to look forward to and more to be revealed as it gets closer to its release in 2016. We will keep you updated!

Great to speed up your character creation or to quickly age your humans!
