These Porco Rosso-inspired animations combine both 2D and 3D techniques.
Animator and Illustrator Renato Roldan has recently shared a collection of spectacular pre-production test animations inspired by Studio Ghibli's animated movie Porco Rosso. Made for The Last Spitfire, Renato's personal project made as a tribute to the artist's grandfather, the animations seamlessly combine both 2D and 3D techniques and demonstrate a colorful plane fight with tons of hand-animated visual effects. According to the artist, the test animations were set up in Blender.
