Procedural Robot Hand Rig Made in Blender With Geometry Nodes

Inspired by Roz from the recently released The Wild Robot.

Check out this awesome procedural robot hand rig with smooth albeit mechanical finger movements, set up by a renowned 3D Artist, Animator, and tutorial maker Cartesian Caramel, also known as bbbn19. According to the author, the project was inspired by Roz, the main character from DreamWorks' recently released animated movie The Wild Robot, and "was done from memory," resulting in Cartesian's hand looking slightly different from Roz's. True to form, the creator utilized Blender and its Geometry Nodes toolset to set up the rig.

Earlier, Cartesian also demonstrated how to set up a Geometry Nodes-powered effect where claws leave real marks on the surface, presented a neat setup with rain trails running down a nicely rigged arm, recreated the Tesseract from Christopher Nolan's Interstellar with Blender's Ray Portal BSDF node, and more. You can check out the artist's full portfolio over on Twitter.
