Inigo Quilez shared a new video where he shows how you can use mathematics to paint a girl taking a selfie. The idea sounds crazy: there are no traditional art skills involved but rather smart equations that allowed the developer to turn a simple sphere into a nice-looking girl.
Quilez has also shared a link to the real-time rendering code (you can edit it yourself live to get a different result) for the painting. The developer discussed sculpting basic shapes, setting up lighting, sculpting the face, dealing with facial animation, and more. The whole thing was made with Shadertoy (raymarched SDF).
