The game received a rating with the description which only mentions the PC platform.
Quake II Remastered appeared on the Korea Media Rating Board, which may be a sign that an announcement is about to be made. The game has been labelled "not suitable for youth" owing to graphic violence, blood, and other mutilations.
The rating description mentions only the PC platform, which surprised the fans of the game. The remaster of the first Quake was released on all platforms, including PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Nintendo Switch. It is also possible that the official release will be shown at QuakeCon 2023, which is taking place from August 10 to 13.
While no detail is currently available on Quake II Remastered, the features added to the original Quake Remaster suggest that the yet-to-be-announced title can be launched with similar features, such as 4K visuals, wide-screen support, updated online functionality, mod support, and more.
Quake II Remastered will certainly be welcomed by all fans of the iconic shooter. Developed by id Software, the original Quake II was released for PC in December 1997. The game features four of the weapons from its predecessor and introduces six new ones.
