QuestHaven: An Upcoming Unity-Powered VR Tabletop Simulator

Check out this fun upcoming game that will give VR enthusiasts a new way to play tabletop RPGs.

A Reddit user NotNoxDev has demonstrated some gameplay footage from the upcoming game NotNoxDev and a team of experienced developers are working on called QuestHaven. QuestHaven is planned to be a VR tabletop simulator, powered by Unity. The team claims that it's not a game but rather an environment/toolset that allows you to play VR tabletop games your way. So regardless of the system you want to play (D&D, Pathfinder, etc), QuestHaven will provide you and your friends with the tools needed for a great adventure.

"We're using Synty assets for graphics, among other low poly. There is also a dungeon creator, crossplay between PC&VR, character creator, etc," commented NotNoxDev. "It has been a blast working on this project, can't wait to share more in the future."

And here's the list of things the team promises you'll be able to do in their upcoming game:

  • Build and track your character.
  • Defeat your enemies with the role of a dice.
  • Design deadly maps to challenge your players.
  • Fill your dungeons with hordes of enemies.
  • Play god: Sculpt mountains, control weather set the time of day.
  • Set the mood: control music, and environmental sounds.
  • Take over your figure and roleplay.
  • Move your figure with the help of a grid, hex, or freely.
  • Measure the size of your fireball or cast it in a 4 by 4 room.
  • Make adventures happen!

The release date hasn't been revealed yet but NotNoxDev says they plan on launching a Kickstarter campaign in a few months. The game is planned to be available on PCVR and Oculus Quest 2. You can learn more about the upcoming tabletop simulator by clicking this link.
