Realistic Digital Water Made With Unity HDRP And a Custom Waterline FX

Technical Artist Fair Yan continues to experiment with realistic-looking water in Unity.

Have a look at this highly-realistic water shader created by Fair Yan, a skilled Technical Artist and Game Developer, whom you might already know as the creator of the awesome waterline effect, complete with the ebb and flow of water and droplets on the camera, that was making waves on Twitter back in 2022.

As stated by the author, the new mesmerizing simulation was set up in Unity with High Definition Render Pipeline (HDRP), a high-fidelity Scriptable Render Pipeline designed specifically to target Compute Shader-compatible platforms, and its new water system, as well as a custom-made waterline FX. The creator has also noted that the effect in question runs in real-time.
