Remedy: Codenamed Condor Enters Full Production, Core Loop Engaging

"The game brings a unique Remedy angle to the genre."

Remedy Entertainment Plc’s Business Review January–March 2024 has been published, unveiling that Codenamed Condor, the much-anticipated multiplayer spin-off game from the 2019 hit, Control, has "moved to full production meaning it has reached the final development stage before a game is launched."

Remedy Entertainment first teased the game in June 2021 with the announcement that it was partnering with 505 Games on a Control spin-off. The developer also confirmed that Condor would be built using Remedy's proprietary Northlight engine and tools.

Earlier this year, Remedy's 2023 annual report revealed a planned service-based fixed-price strategy for the spin-off game. This model would be supplemented with additional payable downloadable content and, possibly, microtransactions.

The company had previously projected a transition to full-scale production for Codenamed Condor in 2024. With the recent announcement, it seems Remedy Entertainment is fulfilling its proposed timeline.

The business review also states that:

"Based on wide internal playtests, we can see that the core loop is engaging, and the game brings a unique Remedy angle to the genre."

"brings a unique Remedy angle to the genre" sounds quite interesting, as it might hint a lot more than these words. Anticipation is high, so let's stay tuned.
