The project is currently in the concept stage and will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
Remedy Entertainment, the Finnish developer known for such games as Control, Max Payne, Alan Wake, and Death Rally, has announced that it's working on the sequel to Control.
Control 2 is the same game Remedy previously referred to as Codename Heron. The game will be co-developed, co-published by Remedy and 505 Games, and powered by the Finnish studio's proprietary Northlight engine. A little is known about the project, except it is currently in the concept stage and when it's ready, it will be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
In the announcement, game director of the Control series Mikael Kasurinen thanked the fans for "making Control such a success" for the studio noting that when Remedy worked on the first part of the game, it wanted to make something unusual and something new which is why it "leaped into the unknown."
"With Control 2, we’ll take another leap into the unknown. It’ll be an unexpected journey. It’ll take a while, but to put it mildly, this is the most exciting project I’ve ever worked on. It’s still early days, but it will be worth the wait," Kasurinen said.
In late October, Remedy provided updates on the projects it is currently working on, including Alan Wake 2, Max Payne 1&2 Remake, a spin-off Control game codenamed Condor, and Control 2, at that time known as Codename Heron.
