Roblox Offers Flexible Working Options to Its Employees
Now, the staffers can choose whether they wish to work from the office five days a week, three days a week, or chose to work primarily remotely attending the office on a quarterly basis.
Roblox announced it's implemented a hybrid working model joining a number of game companies that introduced it before. With the new model, the company will offer its employees several options choosing between remote working and coming to the office.
A flexible working model suggests that, apart from working from the office five days a week, the staffers can either come to the office three times a week from Tuesday to Thursday with the rest of the days working wherever they wish or choose to work primarily from home.
However, in this case, people who live locally or remotely will still have to come to the office at least once a quarter, while internationally-based employees will be asked to come in for at least one week per year.
"For people who live locally and who plan to come into a Roblox office three days a week ... we will make sure they have a dedicated desk so they can sit near their teammates or other collaborators," the blog post reads. "For people who live locally or remotely, and who plan to work primarily from home, we will provide them with a hoteling desk and support their travel to visit our San Mateo offices."
The overall structure of the firm's workweeks will remain unchanged. The company will still hold events where all the employees can gather together, like weekly Town Halls and monthly AMAs with CEO David Baszucki. Besides, the company will launch new annual get-togethers like Roblox Week. No-meeting days and core hours will also remain as they were.
Roblox also noted that all employees will still have the opportunity to work "anywhere they legally can" for up to two months every year.
"In designing this new approach, we wanted to offer employees flexibility to gain more control over their work and personal lives while also providing regular touchpoints to connect, share ideas, and build relationships in person," the company wrote.
