Sega has revealed that it has established a new office in Singapore as it looks to expand globally and boost its activities across Southeast Asia.
According to the company's press release, a new Singapore-based subsidiary was officially opened on October 13, 2022. The new branch is set to undertake local market research and marketing to promote Sega's titles and other initiatives within the Southeast Asian market which, as Sega believes, "is expected to grow significantly in future."
"Singapore has achieved remarkable economic growth as a major hub in the Southeast Asian region given its convenient location and its business-friendly government policies," the company said in the announcement.
"By establishing SEGA Singapore as a key base to lead future operations in Southeast Asia, we will continue to prepare for and investigate the establishment of further business operations in the region and strive to deliver Japanese content, including SEGA’s own IP, to more people around the world."
Sega Singapore will join other publishing bases and development studios that the company had previously established. Other Sega branches include Sega of America in Irvine, California and Sega Europe in London.
