Silent Hill and The Last Guardian Developers Open Bokeh Game Studio

Keiichiro Toyama, Kazunobu Sato, and Junya Okura founded a new independent studio in Tokyo, Japan.

Three veterans of the game industry, who have worked on successful Japanese games, teamed up to open a new studio. The foundation of the studio was unveiled in the video where the founders were discussing the current state of the game industry and how the game development workflow has changed over time.

With the initial intention to bring back the atmosphere of old times, developers plan to keep the studio independent and focus on creating games.

Until now, there was a company providing us with a work environment, where we would decide what to do from there. As we turn independent, we have to prepare everything ourselves. It is hard, there are responsibilities, but we have our freedom. This is the most important. I want to enjoy creating from now on.

Junya Okura, Game Director

Keiichiro Toyama is one of the creators of Silent Hill and left Sony to join Junya Okura, who he's known from the Siren game, and Kazunobu Sato, who's been a part of The Last Guardian team.
