A small team is working on Cities: Skylines II and they cannot afford to be distracted by multiple major tasks. That is why Colossal Order's employees will initially focus on optimization. Afterward, they will dedicate their efforts to creating additional content, including major paid DLCs.

Colossal Order has promised to continue actively working on Cities: Skylines II for the game to fully realize its potential. The game was originally released on October 24, 2023, for PC. It received mixed reviews on Steam due to technical issues. Players are not happy with lag and low framerates, even on powerful PCs.

You can find the original message here. Before the release, the creators of Cities: Skylines II had already warned players that they were unable to fully optimize their city-building simulator. Despite this, the developers did not postpone the release date, promising to improve performance after the launch. The creators of Cities: Skylines II mentioned they would like to "manage expectations on performance".
