Smooth Weapon-Switching & Holster System Made for a UE5 Shooter

Developers of Project Deniz provided an update on their upcoming action-packed game.

In case you missed the news, around a month ago, we highlighted Project Deniz, an upcoming indie third-person shooter featuring top-notch gameplay animations, excellent graphics, and smart enemy AI with environmental awareness. Recently, the team behind the project provided a much-anticipated update on the game with a new exciting demo shared over on Twitter.

Continuing to focus on Project Deniz's smooth, visually compelling animations, the team has set up an impressive weapon-switching and holster system that lets the player character change her guns and put the pistols in their holsters in a lifelike manner, without weapons simply disappearing in the air. Much like the game itself, the showcased gameplay animations were set up using Unreal Engine 5.

Besides the demo itself, the devs have also spilled the beans on their plans for the future, reaffirming that the development continues at a steady pace and teasing an upcoming trailer for Project Deniz and the launch of a Steam page. Furthermore, when asked about potential Mak Payne-style shootdive mechanics or hand-to-hand takedowns similar to those from John Wick, the team responded with "Soon", igniting even more excitement for Project Deniz among fans.

And here are some of the previous demos shared by the developers:
