To continue a conversation as if it never stopped.

There is will and there is dedication, the latter is what got the Something Awful forum user Etherwind banned for over a decade and what brought them back when the "sentence" was served.
Back in 2013, Etherwind was a passionate person, maybe a bit too much even, and he used to pour his feelings and opinions into discussions of the tabletop RPG World of Darkness. One such exchange "gifted" him a 100,000-hour-long probation, which is over 11 years, after Etherwind basically wished someone death.
"I broadly consider nWoD's politics and social commentary through the perspective of "Death of the Author", and while I know that's a figurative expression, your reply makes me wish it was at least partly literal commentary," he replied to another user's comment (via PC Gamer).
Most people would move on and never come back, but Etherwind had a plan. When the ban was lifted in July 2024, he returned in all his glory to continue one of the threads from 2013 as if nothing had happened.
"I don't think [the 20th Anniversary edition of Wraith: The Oblivion] will be out before 2016."
And he was right – it was published in 2018, but that, of course, wouldn't be surprising for someone from 2024.
As PC Gamer reported, the comeback stirred the forum's crowd, many wondering what the thought process behind it was. Did Etherwind set a timer to casually walk in again? He did, in fact, several years into his exile. To make it as funny as possible, he chose a post from someone he had neved argued with and left his comment referencing something that had already happened.
Then, Etherwind logged off to never come back again and stay a legend in our minds.
I want this to be a tale of patience, commitment, and growth. It may be hard to let go of an issue, but when you do, you should come out a better person. Or at least be funny, whatever.
