So far, ConcernedApe has teased changes to the fruit trees and made harvesting crops faster.
Eric Barone, the developer of the successful indie game Stardew Valley, has begun to share the news about the highly-anticipated 1.6 update, one patch note a day.

The Stardew Valley 1.6 update is set to be released on March 19th, a date that was announced last month. However, the lack of specific patch notes or highlights has left the game's dedicated players eager for more details.

In a recent tweet, Barone unveiled that one of the major changes in the 1.6 update will be the revamping of fruit trees. Following the update, chopping down a fruit tree will give a player a fruit sapling of the same quality as its fruit. The higher the quality, the faster the sapling will mature when replanted.
Barone also confirmed the fixing of a bug that made harvesting crops from left-to-right faster than from right-to-left, a glitch that players had suspected for a long time, adding that "the update will make them both equally fast, not equally slow".
With just a week remaining until the expansive 1.6 update, fans are eagerly awaiting the numerous changes. Given the extensive list of modifications, Barone has suggested that players might want to consider starting a new save file to fully enjoy the updated gameplay experience. He also added that saved files will remain completely untouched.
