The team that stands behind Stargate Studios Malta’s VFX Academy has announced the course "An Introduction to VFX Compositing" which will be held for 12 weeks in Malta, covering essential skills such as seamless layer compositing, rotoscoping, prep work, keying, camera tracking, and color correction.
Stargate Studios Malta is a top-tier production company widely recognized for providing high-quality visual effects and production services to the film and television industries. Back in April, the Head of Creative at Stargate Studios Malta participated in an extended interview with the 80 Level team and walked us through the capturing process, discussed the team's RealityCapture workflow, and demonstrated the scene's rendering using Unreal Engine 5.
The studio recently announced the launch of its 12-week course, aimed at aspiring artists seeking to break into the high-demand field of compositing. The course offers a comprehensive introduction to 2D, covering crucial skills such as seamless layer compositing, rotoscoping, prep work, keying, camera tracking, and color correction.
The developers of the course mention that the students at Stargate Studios Malta’s VFX Academy will acquire specialized knowledge and skills in specific areas of Visual Effects, all while being shaped into industry-ready hires. Through practical learning, participants will familiarise themselves with industry-standard software like Nuke and gain insights into the reality of professional studios and pipelines.
