The game's cast, among others, comprises The Last of Us stars, including Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, and Laura Bailey.
Summerfall Studios' Stray Gods: The Roleplaying Musical, penned by Dragon Age writer David Gaider, has been confirmed to release for PC on August 3, 2023, following several years of development.
This announcement was made during the Myth & Magic live stream event, where new details about the game were shared, including its impressive ensemble cast, which features notable names such as Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, Felicia Day, Laura Bailey, and others.
Stray Gods is set in a contemporary fantasy world where Greek Gods exist in secrecy among humans. As the title suggests, the entire game is a musical featuring sung dialogue.
The live stream presentation also unveiled the main storyline of the game, which was showcased in a spectacular trailer. Although the protagonist, Grace, has been previously introduced, it was revealed that she is falsely accused of the murder of Calliope, a member of the Greek Gods' pantheon.
Following this, Grace is granted the enchanting abilities of a Muse, giving her the power of musical persuasion, but also placing her under intense scrutiny as she strives to master her newfound gifts and clear her name through the magic of song.
Throughout the game, players will have various options to charm, negotiate, or use force to advance, shaping their own unique journey toward the conclusion. In addition, there are four potential romantic interests available for players to pursue.
Stray Gods' cast comprises seasoned actors who have previously worked on The Last of Us, including Troy Baker, Ashley Johnson, Laura Bailey, and Merle Dandridge. Baker also serves as the game's voice director.
Additionally, the cast includes accomplished actors who have appeared in numerous films, TV shows, animations, and games, including Felicia Day, Khary Payton, Mary Elizabeth McGlynn, Erika Ishii (known for her role as Valkyrie in Apex Legends), Anthony Rapp (a musical theatre and Star Trek performer), Rahul Kohli (featured in Fortnite and Gears 5), among others.
