Stream Blender Viewport In The Latest HDR Light Studio Release

HDR Light Studio 8.2.2 also introduces a new Texture Scale setting, designed to optimize memory usage of area light textures when working with Unreal Engine.

Lightmap has launched HDR Light Studio 8.2.2, the latest version of its real-time lighting design app, which adds a dedicated interface, tools, and HDR content to your 3D software with live-link plug-ins.

HDR Light Studio 8.2.2 introduces a game-changing feature where you no longer have to export the scene into HDR Light Studio or rearrange its interface around Blender's rendering viewport. Instead, the Blender Viewport can now be streamed right into the HDR Light Studio interface, allowing you to use powerful LightPaint tools directly on Blender's interactive render.

This update can significantly streamline your workflow while also empowering your creative control, resulting in a more efficient and enjoyable lighting design process.

The HDR Light Studio extension for Blender is compatible with Eevee, Cycles, RenderMan, and Octane Render. For additional information on the new workflow, watch the video on top of the article and see the documentation here.

Another prominent change is a new Texture Scale setting in the Light Properties panel that allows the resolution for each Area Light to be scaled, aiming at reducing the memory consumption of light textures while working within Unreal Engine.
