Substance 3D Livestream: A Traditional Sculptor Learns 3D

Adobe Substance 3D announces a new Livestream with Romain Van den Bogaert, who will share how to convey the artistic vision into a full 3D scene with no prior experience of working in 3D.

Already becoming traditional, Substance 3D Livestream will go live this time on the 24th of February at 10 AM PST. During the Livestream, you will hear from Romain Van den Bogaert, a conventional sculptor and character designer based in France, in his process of discovering 3D tools. Romain’s creations draw inspiration from legends and lost civilizations, his work effortlessly traversing a multitude of cultures and eras while retaining a distinctive unifying style. Many of his sculptures possess a dream-like, otherworldly quality, yet remain strikingly present as each character’s vitality is faithfully captured in their meticulously crafted expressions and animated gestures.

In this Livestream, Romain will discuss how, with almost no prior experience of working in 3D, he conveyed his artistic vision into a full 3D scene, as well as his approach to learning a digital workflow. It will be hosted by Gio Nakpil, Creative Director at Adobe and an accomplished VR sculptor.

'Digital tools are great for being able to imagine and possibly prototype new ideas that I can then physically create at extremely varied scales, and with a wide range of materials. I am currently searching for a workflow that allows me to switch from one medium to another, in any direction necessary, with as much fluidity as possible.', says Romain in his breakdown for the Adobe Substance 3D team
