SuperAwesome Joins Epic Games
Two teams joined forces to make the internet safer for kids.
Epic Games announced the acquisition of SuperAwesome, a team specialized in the "kidtech" market. SuperAwesome develops tools to create safer digital experiences for younger audiences. Two teams will work on building a wide range of kid-safe services.
SuperAwesome’s Kids Web Services (KWS) platform is a parental consent management toolkit that allows developers to build experiences for users of all ages. The SuperAwesome products and services are GDPR compliant and have been certified through the KidSAFE and ESRB COPPA Safe Harbor programs. The team's solutions allow developers to offer kid-safe monetization inside their products.
Their tools are used by more than 300 brands, including LEGO, NBC Universal, and Hasbro for safe digital engagement with more than 500,000,000 kids every month.
"More kids interact online than ever before and now is the time to double down on their safety. SuperAwesome is the company developers want to work with to make better online content for kids. We share the belief that digital experiences are better when you go the extra mile to respect privacy and we’re thrilled to invest in this future alongside the talented SuperAwesome team," said Tim Sweeney, founder and CEO of Epic Games.
